9 Behaviors Self-Respecting People Never Tolerate

by

During our lives we face challenges and obstacles that help us grow and turn into a better and stronger person. We often have to be braver than we thought we were as well as honest and transparent so that we can transform ourselves. We also need to get rid of the things that pull us down and love and respect ourselves enough to be aware that there is no room for toxic people in our lives.

9 things self-respecting people will never tolerate

1.People pleasing

You should never put someone else’s needs in front of yours. If you try hard to please other people without thinking about your happiness they will only use you and give you reasons why you shouldn’t follow your heart and instinct. Express your opinion loudly and clearly and value it more than you value other people’s opinions.

2.Negative view of yourself

David James Lees once said “Be mindful of your self-talk; it’s a conversation with the universe.” There is a lot of truth in this saying. If you align your thoughts with how you feel about yourself, you can make your reality positive and vibrant. However, you should always have a positive relationship with your inner self. This way you will be able to see new opportunities wherever you go.

3.Remaining stagnant

Another thoughtful saying goes “A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.” No matter how scary the outside world seems, staying in your safety zone will never allow you to try new and challenging things. Self-respecting people will always test their limits in order to learn how much they can grow.

4.Trying to fit in

If you are trying too hard to follow others without standing out, you will almost never be able to grow and learn. Instead of trusting the worn-out opinions of others you should follow your instinct and create your own path. Once you learn how to be comfortable in your skin, a whole new world will open in front of you.

5.Working at a soul-sucking job

If you are working only to be able to pay the bills without being happy at your work place it is very probable that your energy and spirit will become drained and your soul will suffer as a result. Self-respecting people have a deep connection with their soul and know when it is time to leave. However, they don’t just quit before having a plan B, however they will try hard to find another option if their workplace is harmful for their emotional health.

6.Neglecting your health

Nobody can take better care of you than yourself. If you feel emotionally or physically unwell it is time to make changes. Changes can’t be done in one take; you should do it step by step. A self-respecting person values their health the most because without it it’s impossible to enjoy life and be happy.

7.Overly controlling relationships

Having a partner or friend that controls every part of your life it is a clear sign that you need to make drastic changes. You should never leave room in your life for manipulative people. Toxic relationships can damage your health and well-being. So, if you want to grow as a person you must end this kind of relationship and never allow another person control any aspect of your life ever again.

8.Being lazy

We have become addicted to our smartphones or laptops which we mostly use to entertain us. This addiction has made us less motivated to go out and do amazing things. A self-respecting person is aware that it is very important to work toward goals and to be disciplined when you are doing it.

9.Not choosing happiness

Settling for less means you don’t value yourself enough or that you are not comfortable to make changes. Self-respecting people will never settle for something if they are not happy or satisfied. They know there is something out there waiting for them and they are willing to go and look for it.

If you never do things that make you happy you will be unable to set your soul on fire in order to rise above and walk away from things that kill your spirit. This applies to places you live, diet, workout routine, people, relationships, jobs etc. If you feel unhappy in a certain situation think about how you can change that situation and never stop doing so until you feel happy.
