1.Connect with nature

If you don’t have enough opportunities to be surrounded with nature, try to find time no matter how tight your schedule is. This can be as simple as taking your lunch break in the park, or even better, go for a vacation somewhere nice. Strengthening your bond with nature will help ease your mind and you will quickly stop overthinking.

When in nature, focus on the things around you such as the trees, leaves, mountains, sky, lake, river etc. Avoid preoccupying your mind with work, and you will start thinking more clearly very soon.

2.Repeat peaceful words to yourself

Your brain is very likely to be overwhelmed with various thoughts, even right now. If you pay attention, you will find out that most of those thoughts are about the things you should do today, or what someone said and how they made you feel, and you may even have degrading thoughts for yourself. Being surrounded with a lot of negativity makes having negative thoughts about us feel very common, however, it does not mean you shouldn’t change that. Every time you start feeling worried or anxious, stop these feelings by repeating words such as: It’s ok, Life is good, I’m ok, Peace, Love, Light.

This might not completely quiet your mind, but it will at least keep it occupied to avoid having negative thoughts and will also help you focus on the things that really matter.

3.Meditate

Meditation is a practice that more and more people try every day, and there is a reason why. When you meditate, the overthinking and negative thoughts are unable to occupy your mind for a while, and as a result you will feel calmer and happier.

If meditation is not helpful for you, you can always try guided meditation or yoga. Both can help you become more aware of your body and you will learn how you easily cope with everyday difficulties and challenges.

These three habits have proven benefits in preventing overthinking and also bringing more piece. No matter how busy you are, you can always take at least 10 minutes to perform one of these activities. It is for your own good, and you should always take good care of you and your mind. As a result, you will feel relaxed and even more productive.
